Visit Ndutu,
the cradle of the Great Migration
The Ndutu region lies within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA). This area around Lake Ndutu is in the western part of the conservation area, which is where the herds of the Great Migration gather for the birthing season from December to March.
Predators on the prowl are ready to do anything for a victorious hunt. Many cheetahs can be spotted here during the season.
The 2 main gates into the Serengeti are Karatu and Naabi. It is also possible to use the tracks by small bush plane.

THE GREAT MIGRATION
Serengeti National Park is one of Africa's largest preserved ecosystems. It is best known for the Great Migration of millions of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle who travel over 3,000 km in search of pasture, following the rain. When observing this migration, it is essential to understand that you will also be following the rain, with the possibility of showers.
Predators follow this movement, and the cycle of life maintains the balance in this environment. Crossing the Mara River is a particularly dangerous moment for the herds, often documented in wildlife reports. On the Ndutu plains, the young animals become prey of choice for the wild animals.
Visiting the Serengeti or Ndutu makes you more aware of the interdependence of species and the importance of protecting these natural cycles, particularly when crossing the rivers between July and October, and when the animals give birth in the Ndutu region from December to March.

Guide's tip
“It's not easy to get around the Ndutu region during the migration season.
The tracks are practically non-existent and the risk of getting stuck in the mud is high. For me, it's a real adventure, one that I love to take you on!
My training as a mechanic and my extensive experience of driving in complicated areas are therefore an asset.“
