Their experience
We chose this agency because it organises treks off the beaten track that are accessible to families. We set off from the Empakai crater to Lake Natron on foot, in three days of trekking, supervised by a perfectly organised team, including a French-speaking guide, an armed ranger for part of the route, a Massai guide and a cook. The equipment was carried by donkeys. Very varied scenery. Beautiful views of the Lengaï volcano. Bivouac in the heart of nature. Very good meals (three courses!). Pink flamingos and many other birds. Crossing isolated Massai villages.
We combined this trek with a magnificent safari - more traditional - in Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Like almost all agencies, we had a big Toyota 4×4 with a panoramic roof, ideal for observing the animals. Our guide Eric was very friendly and spoke perfect French.
Corto also makes a big effort to limit waste by providing mineral water in flasks and reusable crockery.
Our teenagers loved this trip, despite the absence of a network and the lack of wifi.
Tanzania is a particularly expensive destination, not least because of the park entrance fees. A once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Thanks to the whole team, and to Laurène for planning the trip!
